Larry has over 40 years of trial and appellate experience including a broad range of complex civil litigation. Mr. Bach is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Ohio. Additionally, he has been admitted to practice in state and federal courts outside of Ohio on a pro hac vice basis. His experience covers a wide range of subjects, including commercial law, adversary bankruptcy proceedings, employment, civil rights and constitutional matters, municipal law, consumer matters, and cases involving foreign entities located in Canada, Italy, and Japan.
Mr. Bach’s jury experience started within six months of his admission to practice law and has continued through his career. Mr. Bach’s accomplishments include being featured in the Ohio Legal News for his March, 2002 victory in the case of Holiday Properties Acquisition Corp. v. Scott Lowrie. In that matter a Summit County, Ohio jury awarded his client a verdict in excess of $3 Million against its former in-house attorney. He successfully obtained a jury verdict against the former Summit County, Ohio Coroner based on the Coroner’s defamation of a Vascular Surgeon.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Bach regularly counsels clients on a number of business and legal issues, including employment law issues, contract matters, and risk management. Mr. Bach has an in-depth knowledge of motor vehicle dealership and franchising law, and counsels clients on the sale and acquisition of dealerships. He recently concluded a $15 million dealership sale in Licking County, Ohio. His experience with asset purchase agreements is not limited to motor vehicle dealerships; the most recent being the 2024 sale of nursery assets in Lake County, Ohio for $5 million.
He has provided continuing professional education to lawyers, real estate agents, and professional engineers.
Mr. Bach's municipal law experience includes serving as the Law Director for the Village of Mogadore, Ohio. During that time he developed the Village’s record retention policy and successfully defended the Village in litigation arising out of a public records request with potential exposure of over $1.5 million.
Mr. Bach joined the firm in 1984 upon his graduation from Case Western Reserve University Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review. While in law school, he was awarded a cash prize from the Commercial Law Foundation for his law review article relating to UCC filings. 35 CASE WEST. RES. L. REV. 51. Mr. Bach received his A.B. degree from the University of Dayton. He is a former member of the firm’s Executive Committee and served as the Managing Parter when the firm moved to its current location in Akron Centre Plaza.
